League Meeting Minutes 
January 8, 2001
Called to order 7:05 PM

  1. Affliated with California Soccer Association (CSA) from September 1, 2000 to end of August 2001
    • returning teams - those who played in the fall 2000 league
    • new teams - those who didn't play in the fall 2000 league
    • Maximum of 22 players on the roster
      • transfer fee = $5
      • drop fee = $2 (must give the player's card to Tina)
      • add fee = $13 (with registration form, copy of driver's license, and passport size photo)
  2. All games will be played at Robb Field, in Ocean Beach
    • 5 fields at Robb (1, 2, 3, 8, 9) a layout of the fields will be placed on our web site
    • A division teams will be playing at UCSD or SDSU fields. We will try to have a map to the fields on the website soon.
  3. 37 teams in PWSL for Winter 2001
    • 7A
    • 12UB
    • 12LB
    • 6 O'35
  4. Forfeit Fees
    • $75 forfeit fee if the team does not call Nancy the Tuesday before the scheduled game ($25 goes to the team that did not forfeit)
    • $25 forfeit fee if the team does call Nancy the Tuesday before the scheduled game ($25 goes to the team that did not forfeit)
    • Every board member should receive an email message about any forfeits.
    • Mary is to keep track of what teams owe the league. The "forfeit" team must pay their fees to the league before they play the following Saturday game.
  5. Pass out Schedule for Winter 2001
    • check representatives name, phone number, and team color - if there is anything to change please email Nancy.
    • play games through May 12
    • no games scheduled for President's Weekend (2/17) or Easter Weekend (4/15)
    • Robb 1 will be our extra field if we need it
    • On March 10th and 31st Robb 2 will have 80 minute games NOTE THE TIME CHANGE
    • May 19th will be open for rain out games
    • April 7th - no games scheduled for O'35 = Las Vegas Tourney
    • April 28th - no games scheduled for A/UB/LB = Las Vegas Tourney
  6. Carole is trying to get maps to the UCSD and SDSU fields. Look for them on the website.
  7. There will be a field layout map for Robb Field (1, 2, 3, 8, 9) on the website soon.
  8. Uniforms
    • Shirts must be the SAME color and have numbers on them
    • Shorts must be the SAME color
    • Alternate jerseys must have #'s on them or wear pennies
  9. Tournaments - let Nancy know if you are scheduled to go and your team is playing. There will be a $25 rescheduling fee.
  10. Rain Outs - first game both teams MUST show up to the fields. Team rep will be notified if games have been cancelled. Be sure that the league has a current number for you or an alternate contact name in case you are not there for the game.
  11. Kim Free, Director of Sales and Marketing, will come to our next meeting and talk to the league about the San Diego Spirit, WUSA, season ticket information, and maybe packages.
  12. San Diego Sockers building at Aero Drive in Kearney Mesa
    • the league has been asked if we would like to use their meeting room to hold our monthly meetings
    • in favor of changing location = 14
    • not in favor of changing location = 2
    • Carole will confirm to make change and will put a map on the website
  13. Yellow/Green cards will be mailed to the team reps this weekend by Kim. Please make sure the league has your current address.
  14. Encinitas YMCA is looking for 4 teams to play indoor soccer on Tuesday nights. Call (760)633-1997 if you are interested. You may have up to 15 people on your roster. The league begins in 2 weeks.
  15. Make sure your team puts away the equipment, if you are the last game of the day.
    • nets (2 of them), velcro stripes, to hold net, and stakes go into the net bag which is then placed in the PWSL shed behind the basketball courts.
    • corner flags are placed in the PWSL shed behind the basketball courts
    • cross bars/side bars are placed in the fenced enclosure by the office. Be sure they are put in the correct area.
  16. Setting up the nets - be sure that the goal is secured in 2 spots in the back. The anchors hold down the frame not the net! If there are more than 4 stakes, then use the others to hold the net.
  17. OPEN/CLOSE
    • 1st team that arrives - you are to get the keys from the office and open up the fenced enclosure and the PWSL shed.
    • Leave the shed lock inside the shed - in the front please so it is easy to find. DO NOT PLACE IT BACK ON THE SHED!
    • Return the key to the office
    • A board member will lock the PWSL shed and the enclosure
  18. Suggestion - Put directions for opening/closing the fields on the web site
  19. Final fees are due before you leave or a $25 late fee will apply.
