League Meeting Minutes 
October 2, 2000

  1. Registration
    • During the summer we said to put "decline to furnish" in the social security spot on your registration form. Please start putting it on the form again. As you may have noticed, they don't place the number on the card anymore. They need to match the b-day with the SSN. The names may come out different and may get rejected.
    • The team representative is to submit the paper work, not the individual player. You will know that the information got to Tina on time and the packet was complete (form, copy of DL, passport size photo with name of player and team on the back).
    • Put the name of the player and the team name on the back of the picture. We can't guess who these people are and it slows the processing time down.
    • Send all your information in together.
    • Saturday is the day all registration is to be turned in or mailed to Tina. If it is not in by Saturday, then we can't guarantee you will have a card for the following week.
  2. Players Cards
    • In the past they have been delievered to the field by a board member.
    • You will need to pick them up from Tina. She will mail you a temporary card on Monday if the information is in by Saturday. If you don't get the temporary card then call Tina.
    • If you someone else has picked up your team cards, then please tell the team so they don't hunt around for them.
  3. Mail in the green cards to Kim (address on the form). If you accidentally get the yellow card for the game, then send this to Kim as well.
  4. Call your scores into Kim not Stephanie.
  5. Turkey Shoot
    • registration deadline October 16
    • Each team will need to voluteer 1 - 2 hours of your time at the tournament.
    • In the November meeting we will discuss what Charity to donate part of our proceeds to this year. Please come to the meeting with ideas.
  6. Beginning October 15 we will be using Mira Mesa High School and not Wagenheim.
    • joint use facility
    • $1/2 million to redo grass
    • MMHS available - > coordinate set up for 2 fields here. The cost = lining & setting up the field. Men can't pay the fee, and therefore they moved fields. The league will absorb the cost of these fields this season. If there is trash on the field, then please call Carole so she can discuss it with the people in charge. We pay a $200 deposit for a cleaning fee, so please keep it clean.
    • Wagenheim = no lining cost. We just donated the paint. The mower was put at a lower setting, but grass still not good enough. They mow on Mon/Tues. Could we try to get the field mowed on Thurs/Fri? Probably not, because they do the whole Mira Mesa area and would have to adjust their whole schedule.

  8. Matching Funds Program with City of San Diego owe are gong to try to get one more set of portable goals
  9. Winter Session begins in January
    • $200 deposit due on November 6 (next meeting)
    • $650 for returning teams
    • $900 for new teams
  10. Openings on times in the schedule. If you want to move your game, then call Nancy 1 week in advance and she will try to accommodate your request.
  11. Shirt, socks, and shorts MUST be of the same color!!
  12. Ray Theep
    • have yellow card ready before you get to the field. This will help the refs check your team in more quickly.
    • jewerly rules = NONE can't play unless you have all of it off.
    • if a player is injured during the game, then please make sure the referee has noted it on the yellow card.
    • we should be playing 45 minute halves!
  13. Topic of Discussion for next meeting.
    • O'30 instead of O'35 division
    • O'30 upper and lower division
    • mail out a flyer to all players over 29 to get there input - Mary is to do this
    • Co-ed division for next season?
  14. During the Turkey Shoot - set up a kiddie corner. Sandy Wheeler is to look into this. We think you must give 10% of the proceeds back to Robb Field.
