November 4, 2002
Called to order 7:00 p.m.
Approval of minutes: 1st Kanda Segraves    2nd Chris Yoshioka

Board members and a representative from the Referee's Association (David Haymes) was introduced.

It was announced that the flyer for the winter session would be available on the website shortly. Returning team fee is $650; new team fee is $900. Deposits are due by November 30th, 2002. Deposits received after this date will be assessed $25 late fee. The winter session will start on January 18th, 2003. Registration requirements were discussed.

Games are anticipated at both Robb fields and the Pt. Loma High School. Two goals will be located at the new goal enclosure at the end of the tennis courts, closest to fields 8 and 9. Field 9 may be closed beginning in December in order to remove the layer of dirt/rocks and will hopefully be more level.

Referee issues were discussed. Referees were to be reminded that games are 45 minute halves. Games will be shortened in the event that the teams are not ready. Games are not to be shortened in the event that the referees are late. Game cards need to be mailed in by the referees by Monday following the games each week…not held for a week or two. The cost for a two vs three man referee system was discussed. David will check the rates. Invoice may have been in error. The subject of profanity was also discussed. Deliberate and continued use of foul language will not be tolerated.

Turkey Shoot tournament. There were discussions about the current uneven number of teams and the need for a fourth A division team. The two teams that registered for the O45 division agreed to play in the O40 division and the O45 division was cancelled. Reminder that the proceeds from the tournament benefited both the league as well as local charities. Volunteers are needed to support the tournament in order to maximize the profits. With the support of this annual tournament, league fees have not been increased since 1998 in spite of increases in field rental, referee fees and CSAS registration fees. Signups for the volunteer list was available at the conclusion of the meeting

Updated list of players looking for teams will be emailed sometime after the Turkey Shoot.

Jenny Flynn who has played in PWSL for many years introduced herself as a financial planner for MetLife. She introduced the concept of networking among the various PWSL teams/players. Those who were interested remained after the league meeting to discuss further.

Adjourn Meeting: 1st Jenny Flynn    2nd Cecilia Meyer Lowell
